In the Midst of Grace

Where Jesus is the Focus

About

In the Midst of Grace is a blog dedicated to the Truth of Salvation – that we need Jesus plus Nothing and our salvation is assured through faith in Christ……and we are compelled by Grace alone during our Christian Walk…….PERIOD.  The law has no part in the mix.  You don’t have to wear certain clothes, attend church x% of time, abstain from certain foods, etc.  Some of these activities might OCCUR due to your relationship with Christ or others around you (for example, you may love someone who is a recovered alcoholic.  As such, I am sure you’d choose to not drink alcohol in front of them.  Not because it’s WRONG to drink alcohol, but it could cause anguish in their own life.  This is based on 1 Cor 10-23-33.), however these activities are not our focus – loving Jesus and allowing Him to compell us through His Holy Spirit to become more like Him IS our focus.  He reminds us to love God and love each other (which – BUMMER – includes our enemies!) and forgive as we have been forgiven.  And we HAVE been forgiven – completely!  Our salvation is assured FOREVER when we accept Christ!

I think I am rambling a bit…….

There are two contributors to this blog:

Gina is in her 40′s and truly “got Grace” about 25 years into her Christian walk.  Boy, what a struggle THAT was!  Sometimes it’s way easier to hold onto that law thing, keep those lists, and puff up yourself to think you are one righteous dude because of all you’ve done!  What a sorry life that is!  Gina attended a private Christian University, received a minor in Biblical Studies, is active in her church, and has been known to debate a time or two.  The Lord and all He has done for her is foremost on her mind, and she rejoices that everything that is good in her life came from Him!

Deana is also in her 40′s. accepted the Lord at 5 years old, and attended a very conservative and law-focused church most of her life.  She was a compliant child and young adult, even attending one of the most conservative/legalistic universities in this country.  But Grace sure has a way of getting your attention, especially when she was so tired “doing and doing” that she often forgot about Jesus!  Deana’s Grace awakening was dramatic and completely freeing, and her love for the Lord has only grown!  She has two Bible College/University degrees, is active in her church, and is excited to shared the Freedom we have in the complete work of Christ

We look forward to taking this journey with you!
